In the name of God Amen.

I Samuel Beedle of the County of St. Clair in the State of Illinois being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make, ordain, and establish this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all others.

First. My will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate.

Second. I will that my son Warren Beedle and my son-in-law Isaac Forman be executors of this my last will and testament.

Third. I give and bequeath to my sons, Joseph Beedle and Warren Beedle five dollars each to be paid to them out of my estate having heretofore given to the said Joseph & Warren their full shares of my estate I make no further bequest in their favor.

Fourth. I give and bequeath to my son Franklin Beedle eighty acres of land being the east half of the North West quarter of Section Twenty-seven in Township Two North Range eight west of the third Principal Meridian being a part of the same purchased of Joseph Lemen, also forty acres of land being a part of the North half & South half of the South East quarter of Section thirty in Township Two North Range eight west of the third principal Meridian being a part of the same purchased of George Amos in all containing one hundred and twenty acres, inconsideration that the said Franklin Beedle pays after the death of my wife Sally Beedle the sum of Four hundred Dollars to my executors for the use of the six heirs hereafter mentioned which bequest is to be in full of his share of my estate.

Fifth. I give and bequeath to my daughter Eliza Simpson Fifty acres of land being the west part of the South West quarter of Section Seventeen Township Two North Range eight west of the third principal meridian, also twenty-two acres 85/100 being a part of the North west quarter of Section twenty nine Township Two North Range eight west of the third principal Meridian (it being a part of the land purchased of Samuel Oglesby) making in all seventy-two acres and 85/100 which I bequeath as before mentioned to my daughter Eliza Simpson (and her children) which bequest is to be in full of her share of my estate.

Sixth. I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Sally Beedle during her life all my goods and chattels, rights and credits and all personal property of whatsoever name and nature which may belong to me at my death, and also, all the remainder of my real estate, consisting of lands, farms, houses, barns, stables and all other appurtenances belonging to the farm on which I now live.

Seventh. It is my will that no property be sold off of the farm until the death of my wife, ecepting for the support of the family and paying taxes etc. unless at any time there should be a surplus not necessary to keep on the farm in which case my wife and executors can make disposal of on behalf of the estate.

Eighth. It is my will that after the death of my wife that my executors heretofore named shall sell all my personal property and collect all the debts that may be due my estate and after my estate is settled up, the remainder of my estate both real and personal to be divided between my daughters Rebecca Forman, Polly Scott, Catharine Scott, Amanda McFarland, Minerva Beedle, and my son Samuel Beedle and their lawful heirs. In testimony of the same I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Seventeenth day of March A. D. eighteen hundred and forty-five.

The within last will and testament of Samuel Beedle, deceased, being this day presented for Probate, personally appeared before me John D. Hughes, Probate Justice of the Peace of the said County and State aforesaid James H. Lemen and Elisha Prickett, the two subscribing witnesses to the will aforesaid, who being duly sworn on their oaths, depose and say, that they were present and saw the above named Samuel Beedle sign the above last will and testament in their presence, that they believed and still believe that the said Samuel Beedle was of sound mind and memory at the time of signing the same, and they attested the signing of the said last will and testament in the presence and by the request of the said Samuel Beedle the testator and in presence of each other.
