- mustered in on 16 Dec 1861 at Princeton, IN
- died at General Hospital No. 8, Nashville, TN 23 Jul 1862 of fever (or chronic diarrhea, or small pox)
- no children were born to Nancy and John
- Nancy filed for pension on 24 Mar 1864, at age 39 years
- her pension application was signed by Emelia (Emily) J. Corn (may be John's sister) and Redin Corn, Ezekiel Beadles (John's father), and Sarah E. Blair (John's sister)
