1832 – Appointed by Executive Committee of the American Home Missionary Society to go to the West
1833 – Aug. Ordained an evangelist by Salem Presbytery, Ind.
1832-5 – acting pastor Orleans, Ind
1834 – Appointed by Executive Committee of the American Home Missionary Society to Orleans, Paoli & Bono, Indiana
1835-41 – Danville, Hendricks Co, Ind. And vicinity

1837 – 7 June. Married Hannah Jewett of Pepperell, MA at Greencastle, Ind.
1840 – Mar. Preached sermon at formation of Indianapolis presbytery (N.S.) and Elected moderator; Henry Ward Beecher was elected temporary, and subsequently, stated clerk at the same meeting. (Moore, 1876)
1840 – reappointed by Executive Committee of the American Home Missionary Society to Danville, Ind.

1842 – April. Dismissed to Presbytery of Crawfordsville. (Moore, 1876)
1842 – Reappointed by Executive Committee of the American Home Missionary Society to Poplar spring and Parkersburg, Ind.
