Am thrilled to find your home page on the Beadles - not an extremely common name though all presumably descended from old William B. Bedell of Catworth who died in 1530 - since my maiden name was Beedles. Let me share what I have on my branch:
Edward BEEDLES was born in Newton, North Wales in 1833. Around 1851, he and his brother George migrated to the U.S.
Edward and George BEEDLES enlisted in company H of the 148th Regiment of New York State Infantry on 27 Aug 1862. They were assigned to the 7th Corps until 1863 when it was disbanded, the 18th Corps until 1865 when it was reorganized into the 24th Corps. Edward was wounded in the foot 3 Jun 1864 at the Battle of Cold Harbor. In the spring of 1865 he fell on a corduroy road [made of logs laid crosswise] and injured his back. Later he was granted a pension of $12 a month and his wife collected a widow's pension after his death. Edward was discharged from the Army at Richmond, VA, 22 Jun 1865.
In 1871, the Edward BEEDLES family migrated to Greenwood County, Kansas, where they lived until Edward's death in 1906 and Anna's death in 1912.
