Several facts suggest that the family described in these records are descendants of Joseph BEEDLE and Mary MEEKS who lived near Dayton in Miami County, Ohio [see biography of their grandson, Abram Collins BEEDLE, which contains a section about Joseph and Mary's family.]

• The names Simeon and Abram/Abraham are common to both groups.
• Both spell their last name "BEEDLE"
• Simeon BEEDLE of Porter Co, IN and Story Co, IA was born in Ohio and is the correct age to be Simeon, the son of Joseph and Mary BEEDLE
• Records from Fountain Co, IN where Joseph and Mary BEEDLE and their family moved about 1825, mention Simeon as a resident, and suggest he was moving out of Fountain County about 1846. The census of Porter Co, IN of 1850 and the census in IA show that several of children in Simeon's household were born in IN.
