Beadles-Sublett Families in Alabama

The SUBLETT family was part of the French Huguenot settlement at Manakintown, VA. For more information about other branches of the family, consult reference 1.

Benjamin Branch SUBLETT, the son of Matthew SUBLETT was born about 1774 in Virginia. In 1797 in Campbell Co, VA he married Mary AKIN. About 1806, they moved to Warren Co. in west central KY. About 1815, they moved to south to Rutherford Co., TN. By 1830, the family had moved south once again to Jackson Co., AL. Benjamin and Mary had 12 children. [1]

Benjamin and Mary SUBLETT's second child was Mary SUBLETT. Her family is outlined below. It is reported that family records show that she married a Sublett cousin, but she is probably the Mary SUBLETT who married John BEADLES in 1821 in Rutherford Co., TN [1, 2]. Mary may have married twice or perhaps John BEADLES was a relative of the SUBLETT family [1].
